In 1981, Mary Ann transformed her own home into a 12-bedroom boarding house, creating what is now Twin Oaks Estate in O’Fallon, Missouri—a beautiful assisted living community where residents receive compassionate care in a cozy, homelike setting. As the need for independent options grew, her family embraced her vision and expanded it. In 2010, they opened Twin Oaks at Heritage Pointe in Wentzville, Missouri, offering a vibrant blend of independent living and assisted living for seniors looking for both freedom and support in a welcoming environment. Most recently, in May 2023, the family proudly introduced The Villas at Heritage Pointe, a luxurious 55+ community designed for active retirees seeking independent, maintenance-free living in a beautifully crafted home.

Mary Ann, now in her 90s, continues to be the heart of Twin Oaks. Residing at Twin Oaks Estate, she remains a cherished presence—greeting residents, sharing stories, and baking her famous homemade bread. Her legacy of family-centered care and exceptional senior living lives on through her children and grandchildren, who continue to nurture and grow what she built with love by being the active and engaged administrators of these lovely residences.
